Stand-up reach truck rental in Michigan
A reach truck is an electric lift truck meant for racked warehouses with narrow aisles. On a stand-up model the operator stands rather than sits, and the forks extend forward to set a pallet into the rack.

Reach truck or counterbalance?
OSHA groups narrow aisle electric trucks as Class II. They are made for smooth indoor floors, not for yards or trailers with rough dock plates. If your work is mostly loading trucks, a counterbalance hi-lo is usually the better rental. If your work is mostly putting away and picking full pallets from tall racking, a reach truck is built for that.
Measure before you call
Reach trucks run on batteries, and charging has its own rules. MIOSHA Part 21 requires a designated area for battery changing or charging, done by a trained and authorized employee, with provisions for flushing and neutralizing spills, fire protection, and enough air movement to disperse fumes. Ask us what charger comes with the truck and what power it needs.
- Aisle width at the narrowest point, rack face to rack face
- Height of the top beam you load to, and the load height on top of it
- Weight of a typical pallet
- Floor condition: cracks, slopes, or expansion joints the truck will cross
- Where the battery can be charged overnight
Operators need training on this type
A permit under Part 21 states which type of truck an operator is qualified to run. Someone trained only on a sit-down hi-lo needs training and testing on the reach truck before they drive it. The federal standard says the same thing in a different way: refresher training is required when an operator is assigned to a different type of truck.
Makes and models you will see
Crown's Kentwood branch rents reach trucks. Crown's rental inventory lists the RR 5700 Series reach truck (up to 4,500 lb), the RD 5700 Series deep reach truck (up to 3,200 lb) for double-deep racking, and the RM 6000 Series MonoLift mast reach truck (up to 4,500 lb).
Rated capacity usually drops as the mast goes higher, so give us the load weight and the top rack height together.

Frequently asked questions
Can a reach truck load trailers?
Reach trucks are designed for indoor racked aisles. Ask us before using one on dock plates or trailers, and say how often you load trucks when you send your request.
Do you need a special charger?
Usually the charger comes with the rental. Tell us what electrical service you have near the charging spot so the charger can match it.
